Mt. View Presbyterian Church, located in White Center, has
a longstanding commitment to children and youth that dates back to the early
1900s and this legacy continues today. Each week, the building is filled
with children and youth engaged with caring and committed adults.
While MVPC has remained a faithful member of the White Center community,
it faces many of the same challenges that other urban churches and communities
face all around the country: poverty, high drop out rates, crime, youth
violence, and more.
Over the years, MVPC and its partners have addressed these challenges by:

Our Partner Church
Mt. View Presbyterian Church owes a great debt of gratitude to University
Presbyterian Church, located in the University district. The two churches
have enjoyed a longstanding partnership. While the two faith communities
serve very different neighborhoods, together they have demonstrated the
very best practices of what it means to operate as the Church: The diversity
of gifts and strengths coming together to love people in the name of Christ.
This partnership has a successful track record of working together in unique
ways.
This partnership has expressed itself in an exciting initiative called “Build
Up The House.”
Shoulder to shoulder, we will be an expression of Christ to build up the
Church in Seattle by:
We are living this mission out to the very fullest… and most concretely through addressing the building needs of Mt. View Presbyterian Church so that its important work in the neighborhood with children and youth might continue on for years to come.
